The full moon this month was Friday, July 15th, which gave us a chance for 2 full moon paddles Friday and Saturday night. The Friday night paddle was 5 miles from the Lighthouse boat ramp to downtown St. Augustine and back. The moon came out as we rounded the corner into downtown, and we enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner at O.C. Whites while waiting for the tide to switch.
Saturday night we had a larger group with some new paddlers, and overcast conditions to start out. We met at the Lighthouse boat ramp at 7:30, and were on the water by 8 p.m. heading towards the Conch House. 15 paddlers total made it safely to the Conch House for the monthly buffet dinner and Polynesian style Luau! We all enjoyed socializing and dancing a bit, and then paddled back in the moonlight around 11 p.m.
